You'll be the person who keeps our production kitchen operating at the standards required by our DOHMH license and HACCP certification. Keeping a High-Volume Production Kitchen at Inspection-Ready Standards
As a Porter at Green Apple, you'll maintain the cleanliness and organization of our production kitchen, storage areas, and loading zones. This means washing equipment, sanitizing prep surfaces, organizing dry and cold storage, and supporting the culinary team during high-volume production days. It's physical work with real purpose — our ability to serve clients like Amazon and Morgan Stanley starts with the conditions in this kitchen.
- Wash and sanitize all cooking equipment, utensils, and prep surfaces
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, drains, and storage areas
- Organize dry storage, walk-in coolers, and freezer inventory
- Assist the culinary team with basic prep tasks during peak production
- Manage waste disposal and recycling according to facility protocols
- Receive and unpack deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage
- Support event load-outs by organizing equipment for transport
What This Role Requires
- Ability to work on your feet for 8+ hours in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Physical strength to lift 50+ pounds and move equipment as needed
- Understanding of basic kitchen sanitation and food safety practices
- Reliability and consistency — showing up on time, every shift
- Willingness to learn and follow established cleaning SOPs
