Event Producer — Turn Client Visions Into Seamless Off-Premise Experiences

Some people plan events. Event Producers create them. Green Apple Catering & Events is looking for a creative, detail-driven Event Producer who can take a client's idea — whether it's a rooftop cocktail reception for 200 or a multi-day corporate conference for 1,500 — and build it from concept to completion. You'll work with venues, vendors, and our culinary team to produce off-premise events that clients talk about long after the last guest leaves.

Creative Production Meets Off-Premise Catering Logistics

As Event Producer, you'll handle the creative and logistical sides of off-premise catering. That means collaborating with clients on event design, developing floor plans, coordinating vendor deliveries, managing production timelines, and being on-site to ensure every element comes together. Unlike a desk-bound planner role, this position puts you at the center of the action — from the planning table to the venue floor.

  • Collaborate with clients to develop event concepts, themes, and layouts
  • Create detailed production timelines and coordinate all vendor logistics
  • Design floor plans and service flow for off-premise venues
  • Work with the culinary team on menu presentation and station design
  • Manage event budgets and negotiate with third-party vendors
  • Oversee on-site setup, execution, and breakdown
  • Conduct post-event debriefs and document lessons learned

What We Look for in an Event Producer

  • 3+ years in event production, catering, or experiential marketing
  • Strong creative vision paired with rigorous organizational skills
  • Experience with CAD or event design software for floor plans
  • Budget management experience for events ranging from $10K to $200K+
  • Ability to manage multiple productions simultaneously
  • Willingness to be hands-on during setup and execution

Produce Events With the Resources to Match Your Ambition

Green Apple Catering & Events has been producing off-premise events across New York City since 2004. We've built a production infrastructure — DOHMH-licensed kitchen, HACCP-certified processes, trained service staff, and a logistics fleet — that allows Event Producers to focus on the creative work without worrying about whether the operation can deliver. Our clients include Amazon, Cartier, and government agencies, and our capacity reaches 3,000 guests. The scale is here. Bring the vision.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Event Producer and Event Manager at Green Apple?

The Event Manager focuses on client coordination, timelines, and logistics management. The Event Producer takes a more creative and hands-on role — developing event concepts, designing layouts, and overseeing on-site production. Both roles collaborate closely, but the Producer is more involved in the visual and experiential elements.

Do I work on event design and layout?

Yes. Event Producers create floor plans, design service station layouts, and collaborate with clients on event aesthetics. Experience with CAD software or event design tools is preferred, though not strictly required.

What size events will I be producing?

Green Apple produces events ranging from intimate dinners for 30 guests to large-scale corporate functions for up to 3,000. As an Event Producer, you'll work across the full spectrum depending on client needs and the event calendar.

Is there a portfolio review as part of the interview?

We encourage candidates to share examples of past events they've produced — photos, floor plans, production schedules, or client references. A formal portfolio isn't required, but it helps us understand your creative approach and production experience.
